Youth facing charges after woman hit with projectile

A young person is facing charges after a woman was hit with a projectile from a moving vehicle.

The Ontario Provincial Police say a woman was walking her dog on Puce Road on Wednesday evening when the projectile hit her.

She called the police and gave them a description of the vehicle.

Officers stopped the car on County Road 22 near East Pike Creek Road. During the traffic stop, officers found a gel blaster imitation firearm.

A 16-year-old faces a charge of assault with a weapon and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
