Driver charged after Tuesday crash in LaSalle

A LaSalle man is facing an impaired driving charge following a collision Tuesday afternoon.

It happened just before 3 p.m. on Michigan Avenue near Reaume Road. When officers arrived, they learned that a man lost control of his vehicle and hit two parked cars in a driveway. One of those vehicles was hit hard enough to collide with the house.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was checked out in hospital.

The 31-year-old man is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

"His driver's licence was automatically suspended for 90 days, and he will now have to appear in court to answer to the criminal charges," read a media release from LaSalle police.

The charge has not been proven. If convicted, the man may face a fine of at least $1,500 for a first offence, and a licence suspension of one to three years.
