Police seize over $31k in drugs from Windsor apartment

Two people have been arrested after Windsor police seized a firearm and over $30,000 in illicit drugs.

On Thursday just before 4 p.m. a search warrant was executed at an apartment at the intersection of University Avenue East and Glengarry Avenue.

When police entered the residence a 52 year-old male and a 47 year-old female suspected of drug trafficking were arrested.

During the arrest police allegedly seized 31.5 grams of fentanyl from the male suspect.

Police said in the apartment they located 54.6 grams of fentanyl. 68 grams of crack cocaine, 47.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a 9mm handgun, three digital scales and $2,845 in Canadian currency.

According to investigators, the total value of drugs seized was $31,266.

The two suspects are charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, namely fentanyl

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, namely crack cocaine

  • Possession of a schedule I for the purpose of trafficking, namely crystal methamphetamine

  • Unsafe storage firearm

  • Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a licence

  • Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm knowing no authority

  • Possession of a loaded regulated firearm

The male suspect is also charged with eight counts of possessing a firearm while prohibited and the female suspect has been charged with one count of failure to comply with an undertaking.
