OPP open 27th annual Essex County OPP Cop Camp

The Essex County OPP Cop Camp gets underway on Sunday with 75 11 and 12-year-olds from across the region.

Over the next five days, the kids will build leadership skills, socialize, and participate in camp fun.

Officers have a packed schedule for the children who graduated from the Grade 6 Values, Influences, and Peers (or VIP) Program.

The camp is staffed by ten OPP officers and civilian staff, assisted by junior councillors, many of whom are former campers.

Activities include bowling, a night at a local movie theatre, fireworks and a trip to the Cedar Beach Marina for fishing and sailing.

It's the 27th OPP Cop Camp at Camp Gesstwood in Essex.
