Health unit gives the region's beaches a clean bill of health

It's been a while since the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit gave all eight public beaches in the region a clean bill of health, but swimming is permitted at all of them this weekend.

The health unit tests the water at each public beach every Wednesday, and this week, E.coli counts were well below acceptable limits. The count ranged from 10.00 parts per million at Point Pelee North West Beach to 53.00 at Lakeshore Lakeview Park West Beach.

It also tested the water at Cedar Beach, Cedar Island Beach, Colchester Beach, Holiday Beach, Sandpoint Beach, and Seacliff Beach.

The forecast for this weekend promises great weather for visiting the beach. Environment Canada predicts sunshine with a high of 29 C on Saturday and a mix of sun and cloud on Sunday.
