Border agents in Windsor are again urging the importance of declaring goods after the second announced seizure in a week.
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) agents referred a vehicle over the long weekend for secondary inspection at the Ambassador Bridge port of entry.
The ensuing search uncovered over 1100 pills of various prescription drugs.
Agents also found and seized 7500 grams of a controlled pesticide.
Few additional details were available, but the CBSA said the traveller was fined.
"Some health products, particularly prescription drugs, may also contain controlled substances," read Health Canada's webpage on importing prescription drugs. "A health product that is a controlled drug or substance in Canada has its own regulations and rules, including specific import requirements. You are responsible for making sure you meet any rules or conditions that apply to your situation."
This seizure came days after officials seized 188 kgs of undeclared tobacco products from a commercial trucker at secondary inspection.
