Construction continues at Tecumseh Arena

As the recreational hockey season starts up, the Town of Tecumseh is asking user groups for patience as construction continues at Tecumseh Arena.

The arena has been closed throughout the summer for the completion of over $2.5 million in renovations.

"The dressing rooms and the back end are ready. That is done but we are going to have to ask our user groups to be a little bit patient for the next three to four weeks, particularly for the lobby area," said Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara.

McNamara said he is very pleased with the work that has already been completed.

"That whole lobby, you will not recognize it when you go in. Remember that big staircase? It's not there any more. You are going to see from the concessions to the dressing rooms, it's brand new," said McNamara. "Next year we are going to do a little TLC to the outside."
