The search is underway for a new chair of the board of directors at the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority.
Tim Murphy left the job in June, and Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Sean Fraser announced the start of the selection process last week.
"As Chair, Mr Murphy was instrumental in helping the WDBA achieve a key project milestone with the connection of the bridge deck between Canada and the U.S.," said a release. "This has brought the WDBA closer to completing the largest and most ambitious bi-national infrastructure project along the Canada-United States border."
The Gordie Howe International Bridge is shifting from the construction phase to operations. The $6.4-billion project should open to traffic in the fall of 2025.
The deadline to apply is October 7.
The federal government encourages applications from individuals with leadership experience at the senior executive level in a private or public sector organization who have worked with a board of directors delivering on major infrastructure projects through public-private partnerships.
