The Windsor International Film Festival is celebrating its 20th year with 213 feature films and 327 screenings.
The 11-day festival kicks off on October 24 with the feature film Shepherds, directed by Sophie Deraspe and ends on November 3 with Conclave, the new historical thriller from Edward Berger.
"We've been on this incredible growth trajectory, always to bigger and better, never resting on our laurels. This year, on our 20th anniversary, it's a reflection of having a wonderful audience and a wonderful community," said Vincent Georgie, Executive Director and Chief Programmer of WIFF.
This year, the festival announced a new partnership with National Geographic. The Nat Geo film slate includes Blink directed by Daniel Roher and Edmund Stenson, Fly directed by Christina Clusiau and Shaul Schwarz, and Sugarcane directed by Emily Kassie and Julian Brave NoiseCat.
The festival will also be screening some old favourites, the festival's People's Choice Award Winners of the last 11 years.
Tickets are on sale now for screenings at three downtown locations.
"It's going to be a big one, there's no question. The 20th anniversary, it's like a birthday, everything is kind of bigger so you're going to want to get on your tickets pretty fast," said Georgie.
