Lakeshore is celebrating its firefighters who have worked to protect their community for the past three decades.
Lakeshore held an appreciation dinner and reception at the Atlas Tube Recreation Centre on Thursday night to celebrate their commitment.
"Firefighters are there for us during our community's most challenging moments," said Lakeshore Mayor Tracey Bailey. "Each of them demonstrates an incredible spirit of community service above self."
The municipality has 85 firefighters with a combined 1,456 years of service.
Thirty firefighters received the Canadian Volunteer Firefighter Service Association's Municipal Long Service Award.
Robert Friest, Mike Aubin, Doug Gagnier, Brent Cranston, Denis Comartin, Jason Demers, Justin Mullins, Joe Derikx, Mike Truskey, Cindy Wickens, Gerald Mailloux, and Steve Little were honoured for 30 years of service to the community.
Another six, Dan Sauve, Robert Luno, Brian Beausoliel, Patrick Robak, Wayne Morris, and Michael Deneweth, were honoured for 35 years of service.
The Lakeshore Fire Department operates five fire stations in the municipality and welcomes the public to its open house on Wednesday, October 9, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
