Stolen Jeep recovered in theft investigation

Not only did Windsor Police recover some stolen goods taken from a business on Provincial Road Thursday morning, but they also found a stolen 2016 Jeep Patriot.

Officers were called to the business just after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday after the theft at a business on Provincial near Sixth Concession Road.

When they arrived, they spotted the suspect sitting in the driver's seat of a blue Jeep Patriot. When officers approached, the man fled on foot.

They arrested him a short time later.

While investigating the crime, they discovered the Jeep was reported stolen in Leamington last week, and the license plate belonged to another vehicle.

A 36-year-old man faces possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, theft not exceeding $5,000, and operation of a conveyance while prohibited charges.

The Jeep was returned to its rightful owner.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
