UPDATE: Traffic backed up at Ambassador Bridge due to an 'incident'

Heavy traffic was reported at the Ambassador Bridge Monday afternoon due to what the Canada Border Services Agency has called an "incident".

The CBSA earlier reported that the bridge was "temporarily closed". However, a check of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website at 6:00 p.m. reported a 10-minute wait for passenger vehicles to enter the U.S.

Few details have been released but emergency crews were called to the bridge late Monday afternoon. The situation has since been resolved.

Backups were reported at the bridge in both directions.

According to the CBSA website, traffic was diverted to the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel.
