Windsor woman's bet pays off

A Windsor resident is celebrating after her POOLS bet paid off.

Joanne Lowe won $254,074.50 after making a wager on sports.

POOLS allows people to choose sports matchups and a Card number, with the individual with the most correct picks winning outright or sharing a prize pool. Wagers can be made online or in-store.

Lowe's winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Lauzon Road in Windsor.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
