Second shots-fired incident on east Windsor street

Windsor police are investigating the second shooting within 24 hours in an east-end neighbourhood.

Officers responded to Monticello Avenue between Porcupine Street and Firgrove Drive at around 9 p.m. Thursday. Video surveillance footage and witness statements indicated that a second shooting had taken place, but there was no physical evidence found.

This incident followed one that occurred just before 7 a.m. at a home on Monticello, closer to Firgrove. Shots were fired at a house, and a white cube van seen leaving the first scene was found nearby with fire damage.

No injuries have been reported in any of the incidents.

Police are still appealing to residents for security camera footage.

Anyone with information should call the Windsor police's Major Crimes Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477), to be eligible for a cash reward.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
