Sexual assault suspect caught violating bail conditions

The Windsor Police Service have arrested a man accused of sexual assault and forcible confinement for violating his bail conditions.

Police said a 33-year-old was released on bail while facing sexual assault charges. One of the conditions included house arrest.

Bail compliance officers launched an investigation and learned he was breaching the conditions of his release.

Police said bail compliance officers, with the help of the OPP-led Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad (ROPE) located the accused.

He was found at an apartment building neat the intersection of Victoria Street South and Simcoe Street in Amherstburg.

The accused now faces an additional two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
