Five displaced after Windsor roof fire

Windsor Fire and Rescue has blamed the heating of roofing material for a house fire on Thursday.

Firefighters were called shortly after 11 a.m. to the home on St. Luke Road near Edna Street.

No one was hurt, but five people are now looking for a place to stay.

The cause of the fire was accidental, with roofing material inadvertently ignited by a propane source.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
