OPP investigation leads to discovery of multiple stolen vehicles

A 23-year-old man is facing numerous charges after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) uncovered an assortment of stolen vehicles.

On Monday, officers from the Lakeshore detachment were tracking a stolen vehicle. It was discovered on a property at Lakeshore Road 211, south of South Middle Road.

The Community Street Crime Unit conducted a full search of the property and found 11 stolen vehicles, four utility trailers, three motorcycles, and two enclosed trailers. Canadian cash and a loaded handgun were also confiscated.

A Windsor man is charged with nine counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, four counts of possession under $5,000, and four counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

He is also charged with two counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and one count each of possession of a loaded weapon and unauthorized possession.

The charges have not been proven in court. The suspect was held pending a bail hearing at a Windsor court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
