Crash results in impaired driving charges, while RIDE stop nabs impaired driver

A Windsor man and an Essex woman face impaired driving charges, one after a crash in Tecumseh.

The Ontario Provincial Police were conducting traffic enforcement on North Talbot Road and 9th Concession Road on Saturday night when a vehicle went off the road and into a ditch.

When the officer checked on the driver, he found out the woman had been drinking, so he arrested her.

She wasn't hurt in the crash.

The 32-year-old faces two impaired driving charges, operation of a motor vehicle while impaired and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

The other driver charged two hours later at a RIDE program on Ojibway Parkway at Hwy. 401.

Officers arrested the 48-year-old man after testing him for sobriety.

The OPP remind drivers to call 911 if they suspect someone else is behind the wheel impaired. For non-emergency traffic complaints, call 1-888-310-1122, *OPP, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leave a tip online at www.catchcrooks.com.
