Pond in Little River Corridor honours teachers and mentors

The City of Windsor has named a pond in the Little River Corridor in honour of educators and their impact on the community.

The stormwater pond, along the Ganatchio Trail and near Beverly Glenn Street, was dedicated to "Teachers and Mentors' Pond" in a ceremony on Thursday morning.

The Essex Region Conservation Authority also planned a tree to commemorate the occasion.

"This initiative recognizes the significant positive impact that teachers and mentors have on individuals, families and neighbourhoods across the community," read a release. "[It] also enhances the popular greenspace of the Little River Corridor on the city's east side."

Representatives from ERCA joined Ward 7 Councillor Angelo Marignani and Windsor-Tecumseh MP Irek Kusmierczyk for the ceremony.
