Two pedestrians killed in crash

Two pedestrians are dead after a collision that closed Walker Road Monday afternoon.

Just before 2 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Walker Road and Niagara Street for the crash involving an SUV and two pedestrians. When officers arrived, the SUV was on its side and had a lot of damage.

A woman, 68, and a man, 62, died as a result of their injuries.

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Services had to extract the driver from their vehicle.

There's no word on any charges at this time.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information or video footage of the incident is asked to contact the Windsor Police Service Traffic Enforcement Unit at 519-945-9645 ext. 223.
