Man arrested one month after release for violating bail conditions

A 29-year-old man facing firearm charges was arrested just one month later for violating bail conditions by Windsor police.

On October 27, Wayne Mackay was released on bail while facing seven charges, including possession of a dangerous and possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle. His release order included house arrest, electronic monitoring and a prohibition from driving because of his status as a suspended driver.

An investigation was launched by the Bail Compliance Unit after receiving information MacKay was breaching his conditions.

On Friday, police arrested him at the intersection of Assumption Street and Louis Avenue.

Mackay now faces additional charges of failure to comply with a release order and driving while under suspension.
