Leamington man arrested after weapons seizure

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made one arrest after a warrant was executed in Leamington.

Members of the Essex County Community Street Unit, Emergency Response Unit, and officers from the Leamington detachment raided a home on Bowman Avenue on Wednesday.

The search uncovered ammunition and a sawed-off shotgun.

A 42-year-old Leamington man is charged with two counts of carelessly storing a weapon or ammunition, and one count each of unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm and possession of a firearm with ammunition.

The suspect has been released and will have a chance to respond to the charges in a Windsor court on January 8, 2025.

The investigation is ongoing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
