Amherstburg figure skating wins bronze in France

Amherstburg’s Kieran Thrasher is coming home from Europe with a bronze medal in figure skating.

The International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix Final took place over the weekend in Grenoble, France.

Thrasher and his partner Jazmine Desrochers came in third in the junior category after posting a final score of 152.82. The gold medal went to a team from China which scored 176.09, while the silver medal went to an American team which scored 155.82.

“We thought our performance was decent, but that’s the best word to describe it. I think we showed some good elements, and there were other elements that had mistakes unfortunately, but overall, I think we showed a good performance to everyone,” said Thrasher.

This was the pair’s second straight bronze medal at the ISU Grand Prix Final. They came in third in 2023 while competing in Beijing, China.
