ATV rider seriously hurt in Lakeshore crash

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say Lakeshore Road 302 has reopened after a crash Thursday.

Police were called to the area between Rochester Townline Road and Comber Sideroad at around 4:15 p.m. When they arrived, they found an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) involved in a single-vehicle crash.

The rider was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Essex-Windsor EMS and Lakeshore Fire Rescue were also on scene.

Lakeshore Road 302 between Rochester Townline Road and Comber Sideroad was shut down while the incident was cleaned up and investigated. It reopened at around 10:30 p.m.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or can provide additional information should call the OPP Lakeshore detachment at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
