One in hospital after two apartment fires in Windsor

One person is in serious condition in the hospital after firefighters responded to two apartment fires in downtown Windsor on Sunday morning.

The first fire was at 810 Ouellette Avenue on the 11th floor.

Investigators concluded careless smoking sparked the blaze, which caused $75,000 in damage.

The second fire was on the 16th floor at 920 Ouellette Avenue.

Paramedics rushed one person to the hospital.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal was notified and the investigation has concluded, but there's the cause and damage estimate haven't been released.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
