Leamington couple with four kids wins $100,000

A Leamington couple is celebrating a major financial windfall after matching six of the seven numbers on their ENCORE ticket.

Christine Honey and Gregory Hutchinson won $100,000 in the December 4 draw.

The couple has four children and plans to pay off some bills and take a vacation.

"We were at home when I started to check our tickets using the OLG app," said Honey. "When I scanned our LOTTO 6/49 ticket, my eyes just about popped out of my head! Gregory was sitting across from me and saw the look on my face. He jumped up and asked, 'What's wrong?' I showed him the winning message, and he was shocked!"

"It's a gift we never expected to receive," she added. "It's been a difficult year. We lost both of our dads and when we won this prize, it felt like it was a gift from our fathers."

The couple bought the winning ticket at Dairy Mart on Oak Street East in Leamington.
