Two arrested in trafficking operation with ties to GTA

Windsor police seized over $400,000 of illicit drugs during an investigation into a drug trafficking operation with links to the Greater Toronto Area.

The Drugs and Guns Unit started the investigation, Project Kraken, in May 2024.

On December 21, officers arrested a 26-year-old as he was returning to Windsor from Toronto. The suspect attempted to flee but officers removed him from his vehicle and he was arrested.

After a search of the suspect's vehicle officers found two kilograms of cocaine, 356 grams of fentanyl, three cellphones, packaging materials, and $950 in Canadian and American currency.

Police then searched two homes connected to the investigation. At a home in Harrow, officers found 575 grams of cocaine, 180 tablets of 80mg oxycodone, 72 tablets of 5mg oxycodone, 95 rounds of ammunition, empty packaging with cocaine residue, a digital scale, and $14,212 in Canadian currency.

At a home on Ouellette Avenue near Shepherd Street officers arrested a second suspect connected to the investigation.

The total value of drugs seized in the operation was $412,850.

Both suspects are facing multiple charges related to drug trafficking.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
