Five wanted after elderly couple robbed during home invasion

An elderly couple is recovering from injuries suffered on Monday night when five people robbed them in their home.

Police arrived at the house on Luxury Avenue, between McHugh Street and Springhollow Street, just after 11 p.m. after four people forced their way inside while a fifth suspect stood guard outside.

Inside, the 87-year-old man and 75-year-old woman were assaulted, tied up, and threatened while the thieves took personal possessions, money, and a sport utility vehicle.

Investigators found the vehicle near Firgrove Drive and Monticello Street.

Police ask those who live nearby to check their security cameras and dashcams for evidence between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on January 13.

The first suspect, a woman, was between 20 and 30 years old and wore a black jacket.

The second is a man who is also between 20 and 30 years old. He wore a black jacket and red pants.

The third was also a man, around the same age, wearing a white hoodie and black pants.

The fourth and fifth suspects are men, also between 20 and 30 years old, who wore white hoodies and black pants.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
