Masse declared NDP candidate for Windsor West

What seemed to be a foregone conclusion is now official.

Brian Masse will be the New Democratic Party NDP candidate for Windsor West in the next federal election. It was announced Sunday that the long time MP will again be the party's candidate as he seeks another term in office.

"Windsor has been lucky to have a champion like Brian,” said NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh. “He’s worked tirelessly for his community, from his long-standing efforts to secure a new national park to protecting Windsor’s bridges. He has taken on big corporations like Rogers that keep jacking up people’s cellphone and internet bills. He’s a true fighter for the working class."

First elected to office in a 2002 by-election, Masse has gone on to win the riding of Windsor West in seven consecutive general elections.

“It’s a true honour that the people of Windsor West continue to trust me to represent them,” said Masse. “Windsor is a special city, with loads of culture that deliver as an economic hub for Canada. With the American tariffs Donald Trump is threatening, jobs are on the line. It is my priority to stand up for Windsor, while Poilievre focuses on helping his billionaire American friends like Elon Musk. New Democrats will be Canada’s first government is truly on the side of working people — a government that will fight like hell to protect Canadian jobs."
