An investigation by the Toronto Police Service led to the seizure of 475 kilograms of cocaine at the Ambassador Bridge.
On Tuesday, Toronto police announced they seized a total of 835 kilograms of cocaine, with an estimated street value of around $83 million, as part of of Project Castillo.
The investigation began in August 2024 and was a collaboration between the Toronto Police Service Drug Squad, York Regional Police, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), and the RCMP Windsor Border Integrity Unit.
"Project Castillo demonstrates the power of collaboration to protect our communities,” said Superintendent Paul MacIntyre of Organized Crime Enforcement. “The results of Project Castillo have struck a significant blow to organized crime while reducing the harm these drugs cause in neighbourhoods across Canada. This operation underscores our unwavering commitment to community safety."
Six people were arrested as part of the investigation including four Canadians and two Mexican Nationals. Arrest warrants have been issued for three other individuals.
