OPP seek suspect in alleged auto theft, credit card fraud

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) hope someone can identify a man caught on video following an alleged auto theft.

Investigators with the Essex County Community Street Crime Unit said that sometime between 10:30 p.m. on January 2, and 4 a.m. on January 3, a white Acura sedan was stolen from a driveway in the area of Amy Croft Drive and West Pike Creek Road in Lakeshore.

The vehicle has since been recovered.

However, a suspect was seen on surveillance video using a credit card taken from that vehicle.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect pictured above, or with additional information, should call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
