Woman killed in Windsor collision

A 47-year-old woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle in Windsor on Tuesday evening.

It happened at around 5 p.m. on Twin Oaks Drive and Munich Court. Police say a pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross Twin Oaks Drive.

The victim was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The area was closed for several hours to allow investigators to examine the scene and perform cleanup. It reopened late Tuesday night.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
