Warrant issued for suspect in attempted murder

Windsor police have issued a warrant for a man connected to a shooting on the west end this past weekend.

Officers were called before 3 a.m. on Sunday for a complaint about gunshots on Birch Street off Prince Road, where a house party was taking place. They quickly located a man with a gunshot wound and rushed him to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and identified the suspect as Tyrin John Taylor.

Taylor is wanted for attempted murder, aggravated assault, pointing a firearm, discharging a firearm with the intent to endanger life, intentionally discharging a firearm while being reckless to life, and possession of a prohibited firearm.

He is described as a Black male, 6’ 2”, with a medium build, brown afro-style hair, and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Taylor's whereabouts should call Windsor police's Major Crimes Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477) to be eligible for a cash reward.
