The cause of a fire at a former high school in Leamington is still being determined.

Firefighters were called at around 9 p.m. Friday to the former Leamington District Secondary School (LDSS). Crews remained on scene throughout the night and part of Saturday morning putting out the fire.

No injuries were reported.

WindsorNewsToday.ca reached out to Leamington Fire, which directed inquiries to the Ontario Fire Marshal's office.

"The OFM has completed the scene portion of the fire investigation into the cause, origin, and circumstance of the fire on Talbot Street," said OFM spokesman Sean Driscoll in an email to WindsorNewsToday.ca. "However, the investigation is still ongoing and no determination of cause has been made."

Driscoll added that due to the suspicious nature of the fire, Ontario Provincial Police have taken over that aspect of the investigation.

No damage estimate has been reported.
