Windsor Police cleared in suspect's fall

The province's Special Investigations Unit has terminated a probe into a suspect's fall during a Windsor Police investigation last November.

Police were looking for a man who entered 333 Glengarry Avenue without permission.

The suspect attempted to flee by climbing out of the window in one unit to get to the ground but fell and fractured his left knee.

He was arrested after the fall and taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Special Investigations Unit investigates incidents involving police where there has been a serious injury, death, or sexual assault.

Based on its preliminary investigation, the SIU concluded the man fell of his own accord.
