OPP make arrest after driver plows into snowbank

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a woman who allegedly drove her vehicle into a pile of snow last weekend in Essex.

Officers from the Essex County detachment were called to Brian Avenue East in the Town of Essex shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday. Someone reported a stuck vehicle.

Police found the vehicle, which was stuck in a snowbank, and eventually arrested a 55-year-old woman.

She is charged with impaired driving and driving with excessive blood-alcohol concentration.

The charges have not been proven in court. She will be able to respond to the counts in a Windsor court on February 18.

"Essex County OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver, you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately," said OPP Provincial Constable Chris Ciliska.
