Humane Society hosting gala

The Windsor/Essex Humane Society is hosting a a gala this year to help raise funds to find animals in the community a home.

The Wizard of Paws Gala is on Friday, April 5 at the Caboto Club. It will remind guests there's 'no place like home' as theatre actors bring songs from the Wizard of Oz and Wicked to life.

“We can’t wait to welcome our community to this extraordinary evening, where we’ll celebrate the power of compassion and the difference we can make together,” said Lynnette Bain, Executive Director of the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society. “Every ticket purchased helps provide shelter, medical care, and a second chance for vulnerable animals.”

The evening will also feature a silent auction, live music from Bigg Wiggle, and visits from animal alumni.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the humane society website. Early bird pricing is on until February 21.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
