OPP bust a suspect for alleged drug trafficking

A 61-year-old Kingsville man faces drug trafficking charges after the Ontario Provincial Police searched a home on Sunset Avenue last Thursday.

The OPP, joined by the Essex County Community Street Crime Unit and the Lambton Community Street Crime Unit, found cocaine, methamphetamines, Canadian and American cash, and weapons.

The total haul is worth just under $9,000.

The suspect faces four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and a charge of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused has been released from police custody but will make an appearance in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 31.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
