Windsor youth charged in BB gun incident

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after Windsor police say he allegedly threatened two people with a BB gun.

Officers responded to a weapons call at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday on Grove Avenue near Campbell Avenue.

They learned that two groups of people were involved in an argument, during which one teen pulled out a BB gun and pointed it at two people.

One of the groups left the area, and the BB gun was discarded before police arrived. No one was hurt.

The suspect was found a short time later and arrested without incident. Soon after, the weapon was recovered and seized.

The teen is charged with two counts of pointing a firearm, two counts of assault with a weapon, and one count each of possessing a dangerous weapon, failure to comply with a release order, and breach of probation.

The charges have not been proven in court.

The suspect can not be identified under the Ontario Youth Criminal Justice Act.
