Police find stolen minivan and suspect parked in a driveway

A 43-year-old man faces charges after Windsor Police officers arrested him while he got into a stolen minivan.

The 2008 Dodge Caravan was parked at a home on Elliott Street on Wednesday.

While searching the suspect, officers found a loaded handgun in his pocket. A search of his backpack also turned up 15.3 grams of fentanyl, 15.9 grams of cocaine, and 37.6 grams of ecstasy, worth $2,212.

Bear spray, a digital scale, and $240 in Canadian cash were also seized.

The man faces three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, six weapons-related charges, and a count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
