Windsor police arrest shoplifting suspect

Windsor police have arrested a man suspected of stealing from a local business at least three times.

Police say the man first visited a home improvement store on Tecumseh Road East off Rose-Ville Garden Drive on March 2, and stole merchandise.

The suspect allegedly returned to the exact location the next day, and then on March 6, taking more items and leaving without paying.

Police arrested the suspect on Thursday in the area of Tecumseh Road East and Tourangeau Road.

The 38-year-old man is charged with three counts of theft under $5,000.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
