Windsor Police make arrest following five-hour standoff

A 40-year-old man faces charges after a lengthy standoff in Windsor's Walkerville neighbourhood on Tuesday.

Windsor Police said the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad arrived at a home on Chilver Road just before 9 a.m. to execute a warrant.

A man inside the home refused to comply with police demands to leave the house, so officers set up a perimeter and called in negotiators.

After five hours, the man surrendered. Officers arrested him on an outstanding warrant.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
