Listings increase but home sales continue to lag

There are a lot of homes to choose from but housing sales dipped again last month, this time down 22.27 per cent from last March.

The Windsor Essex County Association of Realtors says realtors closed the deal on 342 properties in March, compared to 440 a year ago.

So far this year, sales are down 13.11 per cent.

Meanwhile, people are still putting the For Sale sign on their front lawn. Listings are up 21 per cent. They're up so far this year by 19.83 per cent.

When the association published its report for March, there were 1,588 properties on the market.

The average price of a home in Windsor-Essex edged up slightly last month from $566,527 to $583,182.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
