Another robbery attempted at mall jewelry store

Windsor police are looking for a suspect after an attempted robbery at a jewelry store at Tecumseh Mall.

Just before 2 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to the mall after a man wearing a black face covering and black clothing entered the store and used a weapon to try to smash a glass display case. When the glass didn't break, the suspect took off. He was seen getting into a 2001 Chrysler Sebring.

This is the second time in three days that a jewelry store in the mall was the target of a robbery.

Investigators found the car later that day on Meadowbrook Lane near Annie Street.

Residents and business owners in the area of Meadowbrook Lane and Tecumseh Road East are asked to check their surveillance footage for possible evidence.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Windsor Police Major Crime Unit at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830.
