Gun and drugs seized from Windsor home

A 49-year-old man is facing drug and gun-related charges after an investigation by the Windsor Police Service.

Officers were called to a home on Marentette Avenue Sunday evening after a report of a person with a firearm.

They established a perimeter around the home, and five people came out. They were all temporarily detained as officers searched the property.

Police found a man hiding in a bedroom closet. They also seized an altered semi-automatic shotgun, five 12-gauge shotgun cartridges, and 16.7 grams of fentanyl.

The 49-year-old man is facing charges related to possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He was also wanted on a separate arrest warrant for unrelated charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
