Could Tecumseh swallow up Lakeshore's Monroe Island?

If Tecumseh gets its way, Monroe Island in Lakeshore could become a part of Tecumseh.

Not that Lakeshore minds. Both municipalities are applying to incorporate the island into Tecumseh's jurisdiction formally.

Tecumseh has serviced Monroe Island since 2021, but transferring the property would mean Tecumseh would collect property taxes and govern the island. That would mean transferring municipal records, updating emergency services mapping, and making the change with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation.
