Applications open for 2025 Tecumseh Community Awards

If you know someone who has made a meaningful impact on the Town of Tecumseh, why not nominate them for a community award?

The Town of Tecumseh has opened applications for its 2025 Tecumseh Community Awards. Applications are on the town's municipal website.

The Dr Henri Breault Community Excellence Award recognizes those who have demonstrated dedication and perseverance in supporting causes that benefit the public.

The Donald "Donny" Massender Memorial Volunteer Award is for outstanding volunteers known for their dedication to fundraising, advocacy, and charitable work.

The Senior of the Year Award celebrates a Tecumseh resident who is at least 65, who has enriched the community through service, arts, or education.

The Youth of the Year Award recognizes those under 23 who have already made a significant social, cultural, or civic impact on Tecumseh.

The deadline to nominate someone is Wednesday, April 30, and the award winners will be announced at Tecumseh Town Council's June 24 meeting.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
