OPP investigating Pelee Island death

The Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a sudden death on Pelee Island.

Emergency crews were called Tuesday afternoon to check on the well-being of a resident at a home on North Shore Road.

Police were on scene to investigate for several hours. They say there is no threat to public safety.

Essex County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services, the Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

No further details have been released at this time.
