Windsor building added to list of possible measles exposures

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) has added to the possible exposure points for measles.

The health unit has added the Windsor Professional Centre on Howard Avenue and South Pacific Avenue.

The potential exposure was on Wednesday, April 16, between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The health unit has asked anyone who may have been in the building on that day and time to monitor for symptoms.

"Those who may have been exposed to measles...should monitor for symptoms for up to 21 days after exposure," read the health unit's official website. "Symptoms can include a fever, runny nose, cough, drowsiness, irritability, and red eyes. A red rash appears on the face three to seven days after the start of the above symptoms. If you develop these symptoms, call a healthcare provider or walk-in clinic before visiting to give the office time to prepare for your arrival so the infection isn’t passed on to others."

Potential exposure points remain on the health unit's list for 21 days.

To take a measles assessment or see the up-to-date list of active exposure points, visit the health unit's website.
