UPDATE: Blaze at WFCU Centre under investigation

A blaze at the WFCU Centre caused around $1 million in damages.

The fire was reported just after 10 a.m. Monday morning. Fire officials indicated the fire started on the building's roof. The fire caused damage to multiple solar panels and roofing materials

The fire is still under investigation however, fire crews have left the scene.

Over 12 fire vehicles responded to the blaze.

Officials at the local Elections Canada office indicate polling stations located at the WFCU Centre have been moved to St. Joseph's High School on 2425 Clover Avenue.

McHugh Street was closed from Darfield Road to Florence Avenue. It was reopened at around 2 p.m.

All programming at the WFCU Centre has been cancelled until 12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
